My name is Jack Lohman. I’m a retired business owner, though my wife and kids call me unemployed. I like it nonetheless. I’m an advocate for campaign finance reform and single-payer healthcare (though not necessarily socialized medicine, but that wouldn’t be bad compared to what we now have).
I am employed by no one, and at 74 nobody would have me anyway. I’d like to keep it that way.
I’m deeply concerned with the direction of the country. We have a corrupt political system no better than those existing in other countries, and it will ultimately destroy our democracy. It already has a good start.
You can see my complete disclosure HERE, but I’m a center-right Republican that voted for McCain/Palin. Right-wingers call me left wing and left-wingers call me right wing. I like it that way. You can call me what you want. I’m pragmatic rather than ideological.
I also voted for Bush twice, though now I want a do-over. He will go down in history as the most inept president ever. His policies have been both self-serving and anti-public interest. His tax breaks did NOT increase jobs.
I spent 40 years in the healthcare industry, the last 25 as a health care provider. I provided cardiac monitoring services to hospitals and clinics, and billed both private insurers and Medicare. And I will take the latter any day. I’m on Medicare, and it’s not perfect but is the better of the two.
