As long as private industry is funding the campaigns, politicians will give taxpayer money to those funders. The only way to stop that is through public funding of campaigns. And at $5 per taxpayer per year it’d be a terrific bargain.

(But let me qualify my 100%; that’s regarding government waste, not needed social infrastructure which politicians tend not to get any payola for passing.)

The less involvement that government has in our daily lives and industry, the less money the whores will spend to buy the politicians so that they can twist the law to screw the rest of us.

That’s the way to address the problem. The best part is, it’s Constitutional.
